ECZ: What’s your name and what do you do?

SAMANTHA: My name is Samantha Mobley. I’m a business owner, tattoo artist and bass player in Frozen Soul

ECZ: What inspired you to start playing bass?

SAMANTHA: I wanted to be in a band, I thought it was fun so I learned how to play bass and joined Frozen Soul

SAMANTHA: My Darkglass Alpha-Omega 900 amp head

ECZ: What was your gateway into your music scene?

SAMANTHA: I’ve always gone to Metal shows locally, but being in a band really helped me connect with the scene and be intertwined with it and also tattoo other people related to the scene helped as well

ECZ: What are your top five travel essentials?

SAMANTHA: Butt wipes, back massager, noise canceling headphones, my phone, my gaming laptop (and magic decks)

ECZ: What restaurant/beverage spot do you look forward to the most while touring? Any hidden gems?

SAMANTHA: Wawa because it’s open late, and you can get fresh food instead of gas station food

ECZ: What’s your most memorable show that you played at and why?

SAMANTHA: Red Rocks with Amon Amarth, Cannibal Corpse and Obituary. It was the first death metal show at Red Rocks and Frozen Soul was technically the first death metal band to play there. It also solidified me as the first female metal musician to play Red Rocks as well.

ECZ: You always look flawless on stage, can you please share your go to makeup products that you use?

SAMANTHA: NYX matte setting spray, L’Oréal true match powder, for eye liner NYX epic ink liner, I use a variety of products for my eyes and I use NYX brow pencils. NYX is goated

ECZ: If you were to book your own music festival and had to choose five bands in any genre, who would you choose and why?

SAMANTHA: Drab Majesty, Nine Inch nails, Cold Cave, Type O Negative, Bolt Thrower, Acid Bath, cause they’re all badass and awesome live

ECZ: What hobbies/interests do you love outside of music?

SAMANTHA: I like to play video games and Magic The Gathering, I like to draw and paint and I tattoo for a living

ECZ: What’s your favorite style of tattoo, and what piece have you done recently that you enjoyed?

SAMANTHA: I like doing traditional tattoo/ Neo traditional tattoos. I did a Fulci tattoo that was really fun to do and it came out pretty sick

ECZ: What’s next for you and Frozen Soul?
This summer we’re going to be finishing up writing and recording Frozen Soul LP3 and I’ll be trying to finish up some personal side projects by the end of the year. Other than that it’s just touring and getting ready for the next record

Thanks again Samantha for the nice chat! Please be sure to follow Frozen Soul and Samantha and catch them on tour near you this summer!
